Maggie Jensen works primarily in installations of sculpture and sound. With a focus on material and form that normally signal permanence, Jensen instead emphasizes fragility. She attempts to magnify the scale of stutters or weaknesses in a system, to discombobulate our recognition of what a thing is. By obscuring and frustrating meaning, she proposes that misunderstanding can itself be productive in issues of communication in our daily lives.

Jensen received her BFA in art history from Massachusetts College of Art and Design (2013), and her MFA in visual art from the University of Chicago (2019).
